St John of God Geelong Hospital has an opportunity for committed and organised Senior Registered Nurse to manage patient flow across the hsoptial. You will provide leadership and management to optimise patient flow within the perioperative environment.

The primary focus of this role will include:

  • Managing patient flow through theatres from Admissions to PACU in real time within the Clinical Command Centre.
  • Daily planning and monitoring of patient flow activity.
  • Analysing performance and implementing change strategies to aid in optimising patient flow.
  • Accountability for the implementation of continuous improvement programs where opportunities are identified.

This position will be offered on a full time 12 month fixed term contract covering parental leave.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Current Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Extensive experience within the perioperative environment.
  • Experience coordinating and leading a team.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and listening), negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to effectively engage with a range of senior and operational stakeholders.
  • Strong critical thinking and demonstrated problem solving ability, including experience using data to analyse performance and resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of contemporary computer information systems, including experience using Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts Monday to Friday.
