We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team at The Quay Family Healthcare.

We require an individual who can is available to work across a 7 day roster - this includes weekends.

As the first point of contact for all patients, you will facilitate all aspects of customer service, ensuring the reception area is professionally maintained and patients are dealt with proficiently and to the highest standard.

A highly motivated, enthusiastic candidate with a "can do" attitude towards all tasks, ability to work autonomously at a fast pace as well as in a team is a necessity. A bubbly personality is a must!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Open and Close clinic as per set procedure
  • Greet patients and other callers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Make appointments for patients
  • Ensure medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently
  • Accurately process patient payments via cash, Eftpos, and direct bill transaction.
  • Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, Workcover.
  • Knowledge of the MBS schedule and correct billing procedures
  • Deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists etc courteously and helpfully
  • Attend to patient enquiries
  • Check and handle internal emails.
  • Fill in the roster when staff is away, on holidays and sick leave.
  • Maintain the reception waiting area and consulting rooms tidy including the clean up of spills if necessary.
  • Ensure the accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records with appropriate scanning, faxing and filing of all documents.
  • At all times maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information.
  • Complete recalls.
  • Support the day to day operations of the medical centre.
  • Exceptional customer service and teamwork skills.
  • High level of computer literacy and IT knowledge.
  • Experience using Medical Director and Pracsoft desirable.

In addition, the candidate must also provide the following;

  • Must provide recent serology report
  • Must have current Police Check
  • Must have current Working with Children clearence
  • Must have current First Aid/CPR certificate

Salary: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
