The Company 

Upstate is all about creating a positive state of mind through movement, connection and positivity. Upstate has five studios locations in Geelong, Torquay and Melbourne with a sixth location scheduled to open in 2021.

Additionally, Upstate has a purpose built live stream location in Geelong, streaming 80 live classes a week plus on demand. Upstate currently deliver over 350 classes a week with a team of over 50 superstar instructors.

As a result we are looking for a new Operations Manager to cover operations, human resources, management of customer service teams and studio coordinators, and the development / implementation of processes and policies to efficiently manage the operations of the business.

The Role & Duties

This role will include a combination of the following duties:

  • Business Operations:
    • Manage, maintain and update business operating software
    • Maintain operations content, including integration with current software
    • Manage online business listings for each studio location with up to date content
    • Facilities management across all studios
    • Invoicing and KPI management, reporting and analysis
  • Human Resources:
    • Manage rostering for all staff and instructors
    • Manage recruitment processes, contracts and onboarding
    • Manage customer service team
    • Manage and process payroll and leave entitlements, as well as corporate rewards
  • Policy and Procedure Development:
    • Ensure up to date policy and procedure in all formats for staff
    • Train and manage roll out of new policy and procedure
    • Evaluate existing procedure, suggesting continual improvements

Additional duties will be required and detailed through the recruitment process.

Expertise

  • Experience managing a diverse team is essential
  • Experience and exposure to a range of business operating software, website content, G-Suite and excel
  • Exposure to developing and managing operations systems and policy
  • Experience with Midbody software is beneficial
