The role
Our facility at the Marngoneet Correctional Centre (MCC) is looking for a part-time (0.6 FTE) Primary Care Nurse to join their primary care team. The MCC is a medium security prison based in Lara. You will deliver a Nurse led model of care for patients in a unique and challenging environment. This role will also hold responsibility to run alcohol and other drug clinics. Working with this patient group is rewarding as the healthcare you provide can have a positive impact for a lifetime.

This is a fixed-term, part-time vacancy for 12 months & shifts are 8 hours, on a rotating roster over 7 days, between 6.30am and 9.30pm.

Essential experience and attributes include the following (selection criteria):

  • Registered General Nurse Qualification
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • A minimum of one year full time post graduate nursing experience
  • Recent nursing experience in an acute and/or primary healthcare setting
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Alcohol and other drugs (AOD) experience will be highly regarded
  • Intermediate to advanced PC skills
