Skills and Jobs Centre Workshop Series

At the Skills and Jobs Centre you can access a range of services which assist you to manage your career and find rewarding work.

Located upstairs at Westfield Shopping Centre (next to Specsavers), we offer a variety of services including a monthly series of FREE Job Search workshops. 

 

June Workshops:

 

Tuesday 13 June, 10am – 12pm

Resume Preparation – This workshop looks at how to build and format your resume and cover letters, as well as the importance of using your resume to highlight your relevant skills and experiences.

 

Wednesday 14 June, 10am – 12pm

Becoming a Standout ApplicantThis workshop is focused on developing your personal brand and how to portray this through the use of social media, including social media tips and tricks to assist you to enter the world of social media.

 

Monday , 19 June 10am - 12pm

 The Hidden Job Market WorkshopThis workshop explains what the Hidden Job Market is and identifies alternative ways of finding employment opportunities outside of traditionally advertised vacancies. It will also introduce you to the power of your own personal network for your job search.

 

Wednesday 17 May, 10am – 12pm

Interview Skills WorkshopThis workshop provides information on the different types of interviews; tips and tricks on getting ready for your interview, presentation, dealing with nerves; what to say and definitely what not to say and do. This workshop is interactive with participants encouraged to discuss their own experiences.

 

All workshops are responsive to the needs of the group so no two will be identical.
