National Agriculture Day November 21st at Covenant College Geelong
Did you know that in our nation we grow 93% of our own food supply making us the 6thmost food secure nation on earth? Did you know that two thirds of the people fed by Aussie farmers live outside Australia?
On November 21 Australia will pause to celebrate the remarkable contribution of Australian agriculture through the annual ‘National Agriculture Day’, an event led by the National Farmers Federation. Some members from the Victorian Farmers Federation and Marcus Oldham College are coming along to Covenant College Trades Skills Centre to recognise this event and we are pleased to share our facilities and network with local farmers, TSC trainers and hear about a few case studies from past and present TSC and Marcus Oldham students.
The theme for the ‘National Agriculture Day’ in 2018 is community through #growforgood. There are a variety of ways to get involved such as entering a photo comp, grow awareness of the event through posting on AGDAY.ORG.AU or if you are interested in coming along on the 21 November to learn more about Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness or Animal Husbandry and pathways in these industries, please contact Mrs Kelly McKenzie – TSC Coordinator on firstname.lastname@example.org
